It is probably the largest format anatomical work ever published in English with lift-up flaps, with up to 12 layers. Also in 1828 Tuson published in the same format A supplement to myology; containing the arteries, veins, nerves, and lymphatics of the human body. This contained 9 hand-colored lithograph plates by Samuel G. Tovey, each also with multiple lift up flaps.
