First removal of the stomach in America.Amer. J. Surg. Gynec., 109, 157-58, 1897 – 1898.Operation performed by Baldy in 1893. He refers to a claim in J. Amer. med. Ass., 1898, 30, 341-44 giving credit for the first excision of the stomach in America to A. C. Bernays (1854-1907).
