This 20-page pamphlet described Mussey's personal collection of anatomical and pathological specimens.  No place of printing or date of publication is indicated in the pamphlet; because of the reference to the Medical College of Ohio, the pamphlet would have been issued after Mussey moved to Cincinnati in 1838. This work, which promoted vegetarianism and abstinence from tobacco along with other hygiene and overall health advice, was written as the author stated in his preface, "to meet the comprehension of the general reader, and, at the same time, to present some suggestions which, it is hoped, the young physician may find not wholly beneath his regard."
