The chromosomes in heredity.Biol. Bull., 4, 231-51, 1903.Sutton advanced the theory that Mendel’s factors were hereditary particles borne by the chromosomes and that Mendel’s laws for his factors were the direct result of the behaviour of chromosomes in meiosis. Boveri independently proposed a similar view (No. 242.2), which became known as the “Sutton–Boveri hypothesis”. Subjects: BIOLOGY › Cell Biology, GENETICS / HEREDITY |
